Otodata Wireless Network Inc., aka Réseau sans fil Otodata Inc., is a Canadian manufacturer of fuel tank monitors and wireless vehicle technology products.[1]

History[edit]

The company began as Boomerang Tracking in 1995. Boomerang Tracking was created by Andre Boulay to offer technology for stolen assets by using wireless tracking systems.

In 2004, Boomerang Tracking was acquired by LoJack Corporation for $49m.[2] Fours years after Boomerang Tracking was sold, Boulay founded a new wireless company with Jason M. Gallovich in 2008 called Otodata Wireless Network.

In 2010, Gallovich founded a competitor to Boomerang Tracking called Tag Tracking. Tag Tracking is an anti-theft wireless product that tracks stolen vehicles for customers.

In 2018, Otodata partnered with Telit for cellular connectivity to expand throughout North America.[3]

In January 2020, Otodata secured $7.5 million in growth capital financing from CIBC Innovation Banking.[4][5][6] On May 6, 2020 Otodata was featured in an episode on Advancements with Ted Danson.[7]

In January 2021, Tag Tracking amalgamated with Otodata and Renovo Capital partially acquired Otodata Wireless Network as part of its vertical investments in sensor products.[8]
