Our Lady of Lourdes Girls' Senior School has an interesting history. It started as a middle school with boarding for girls in 1958. Then in 1992, it became a Secondary/Technical school. The headmaster at the time, Bishop Lucas, later changed it back to a girls' Senior High School to raise awareness about the importance of girls' education.
The school was founded near the Catholic Church in Navrongo by Bishop Oscar Morin in the early forties as a girls' school. In 1987, it became a mixed experimental junior secondary school due to educational reforms. Then in 1991, it was upgraded to an Experimental Day Senior Secondary/Technical School. Finally, in the 2010/2011 academic year, it was converted back into a girls' school.
The school's official name is Our Lady of Lourdes (O.L.L) Girls' Senior High School. It was established in January 1991 and is located near Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Minor Basilica in Navrongo. Currently, it operates as a day school with hostel facilities. The school celebrates its Founder's day on 3rd February and the Patron's Feast (Our Lady of Lourdes) on 11th February [1].
