Over Policing

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Over Policing is when a police officer, or even more generally a moderator unofficial or self-appointed related to any subject, is psychologically too keen to find fault with another person, or event, or process. As such, it is a form of unwarranted interference, or conscious or unconscious prejudice. At worst, it may be a form of bullying in the guise of upholding rules, using that as the pretext. As such, in an official capacity, it may really be motivated by an individual’s underlying personal negative motivations such as white supremacist racism, such as the murder of George Floyd. It can at times therefore also be associated with undue and even excessive unwarranted use of force likely to cause death, such as that used by the racist police officer that murdered George Floyd.
