Premise[edit]
Staff Sergeant Audrey Beach is bristling with questions when the Colonel flies her away from her Delta Force team, north into the mountains of Afghanistan. What is this mysterious door he is ordering her to go through? It was a setup.
The door locked behind her, Audrey is advancing into the mountain through a futuristic corridor when a woman bursts from a slash of light in the wall. This woman, impossibly, looks just like Audrey. And fights like her, too. The familiar stranger overpowers Audrey, locks her in a cell, then exits to take Audrey's place in the outside world.
But Audrey isn't alone in the tiny cell. With her is Oscar, a man who shouldn't be here at all, having died two days ago when he blew up thirty scientists in Philadelphia. Of course, it wasn't the Oscar of this dimension who committed the act of terror. Like Audrey, he has been replaced by a twin from another dimension.
But unlike Oscar, Audrey's doppelganger isn't here to assassinate a group of quantum physicists. Audrey's double is here for the President of the United States.
In order to save the President and herself, Audrey must escape the mountain, travel across continents and confront the assassin, all while trying to understand what could have caused a woman whose timeline diverged from her own only years earlier to throw Audrey into a cell, kidnap her daughter, and betray her country.
