Owen Costa (formerly known as TheWack1) is an American music creator. He started his work in 2021 in Granville, Ohio. He has created three main albums plus a few smaller projects.

History[edit]

The Pre-XII Lashes Era[edit]

5th Grade – Freshman Year: Owen grew up in the small town of Granville, Ohio. From an early age Owen has enjoyed playing music. He started in fifth grade where he played the viola in his school's orchestra. Halfway through his eighth grade year, he left orchestra and joined his school's 8th grade band where he picked up the french horn. At that same time, Owen joined his school's steel band where he played the bass steel drum. During the summer between his 8th grade year and his freshman year in High School, Owen joined his school's marching band where he played the mellophone. When I say his life was about to change I'm not joking. Owen loved everything about marching band and would show up with a smile and drive like no other. As the first season progressed, he continued to get better and better at his mellophone. Towards the end of the season he was given the honor of playing Long Train Running with the trumpets at the front of the football field. That November, he joined his High School's jazz band where he played the trumpet. This opportunity allowed Owen to learn to write his own solos and perform them in front of large crowds. During that year's OMEA Large Group Event, Owen got to play a beautiful solo at the beginning of a piece titled Eire. To end the school year, Owen auditioned and was accepted into the Wind Ensemble (the top concert styled band in his school) for the next school year. With such a fantastical year and a half, Owen had accomplished so many amazing things. I can't wait to see what's next.

Sophomore Year: This year started off with a bang when Owen auditioned for and got Dance Commander in marching band as well as became a Squad Leader. Who knows what his future will hold? All I can say is that the future is looking pretty bright for this talented young man.

The Music: While his in-school music life was being shook up, Owen was working on smaller musical projects released on his Youtube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/@thewack1) like The Heisenberg Album. But when the clock struck midnight and in came 2023, Owen got to work on some more serious musical projects so he could show the world what he could do. While there were many struggles, like his computer screen breaking, on March 3rd 2023, Owen released his first album XII Lashes to the world. That day a star was born. Soon after, Owen went bowling with his friends at the local bowling alley. He got the idea to make a Avant noise album that we all could listen to on the jukebox at the bowling alley. After many sleepless nights he released the album 4 Park Lanes (later renamed 4P.L. to avoid copyright). While this album was surely different than his previous work, it was still considered good for what it was trying to convey. After many months of work and a name change (TheWack1→Owen Costa), on June 27th, Owen released his third main album Trees in Hiding. This was a smash hit return to form after 4P.L.. It showed that nothing was slowing down Owen Costa. The fourth album has not yet been released, but it has been rumored to be a plunder phonic style album.
