Early Life
He starred in the Asda Christmas Special ice skating advert which was choreographed by Dan Whiston and Christopher Dean. The next role was in the Nintendo Big Brain Academy which hit worldwide media. Owen's latest role is playing Wes Oldfield in the children's show The Dumping Ground. Owen has a small role in the up and coming Disney + Series Marvel Secret Invasion Force Starring Samuel L Jackson (2023).
Career
Owen Phillips is a British child actor best known for his recurring role as Wes Oldfield in CBBC's BAFTA-winning series, The Dumping Ground (2021–2023). Owen has starred in various advertisements for notable brands, including ASDA's 2021 Christmas advert[1]. He also played the role of the "Hero Boy" in The Sun's Euro football[2] tournament campaign, "Eur All Invited". Since 2021, Owen has accumulated various credits across TV and film, and in 2022, he garnered a long list of roles beginning with his appearance in BBC's Dodger (2022). He would go on to land the recurring role of "Sackville Sutherland" in Gentleman Jack[3], where he’d work alongside Suranne Jones and Kathrine Kelly (2022) and then would go on to play "Young Charlie" in the short film Directed by Bafta academy award winning Director James Lucas "The Phoenix of Gloucester"[4] (2022). Owen also filmed an episode of BBC's hit television show, Casualty[5] (2023), as the character Davey Milbury. In addition to his acting credits, Owen lent his voice to Nintendo's worldwide video game advert, "Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain." Owen can speak in multiple accents, including London, RP, and American. He is a skilled public speaker, a gifted athlete, and a dedicated student.
