Ozgur Karatas is a computer scientist, developer and free software activist who is a contributor to Linux and OpenLDAP. He is also a member of the Internet Society, The Linux Foundation and OpenLDAP Foundation. He has worked especially for the use of internet in Africa and he was an active proponent of Open Source.
Life and career[edit]
He was born in Vladivostok, Russia and has a MsC in Computer Science from the Ryerson University. He is the author of several articles on Software-defined Networking.
Ozgur has been a contributor to the Gentoo and the Linux kernel development, worked at the Goosey company.
Advocacy[edit]
Ozgur has been a strong advocate for free software and compliance with the GNU General Public License (GPL) in the Linux kernel.
