Route
The south east of the road intersects with R102 at Freeland Park, providing access to N2 and Amandawe. At the north west of the road, it intersects with P197-3 at Amandawe, providing access to Amahlongwa Mission when turning right, and to Umzinto and Dududu when turning left. The N2 passes under the bridge of P188 near Freeland Park.
Disruption to route
On June 19, 2018, approximately 1500 protesters set alight tires, threw rocks, and dug up the road to block vehicles from passing.[2] [3]
