A subsidiary of PACCAR, which also owns heavy-duty truck manufacturers Peterbilt, Kenworth, DAF, and Leyland, as well as a truck leasing division, PacLease, a network of parts distribution centers, PACCAR Parts, and others, such as PACCAR Financial Services, PACCAR Powertrain and Dynacraft. PACCAR Winch is headquartered in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, a top 20 employer for the city[2], and operates an additional manufacturing facility in the town of Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
History
PACCAR Winch’s history is an amalgamation of three brands with unique historical footprints of their own. The three companies are under one roof at their worldwide headquarters in Broken Arrow, OK. This location is known as PACCAR’s center of excellence for industrial winches, hoists, and drives.[3][4]
Timeline
1927 - Braden Winch introduces their first drum type winch with the first oil-soaked safety brake
1934 - CARCO launches their tail winch into the logging industry
1946 - Gearmatic pioneers the first winch with planetary gears and power transmissions
1962 - PACCAR purchases Gearmatic
1967 - BRADEN PD10 (10,000 lb. winch/hoist) is launched to include the first "Universal Base" for multi-use mounting and application
1974 - A second winch manufacturing facility, located in Okmulgee, OK, officially opens its doors
1977 - PACCAR purchases Braden Winch
1978 - Okmulgee, OK operations relocates into a new 72,000 sq. ft. facility
1983 - PACCAR consolidates BRADEN, CARCO, and Gearmatic to form PACCAR Winch Division, and announces Broken Arrow as the headquarters
1991 - BRADEN and Gearmatic engineers collaborate to create the BG series, featuring new small form power drum technology
2001 - The BRADEN CH210A debuts, offering new braking technology and higher RPM
2011 - PACCAR Winch expands into Southeast Asia, with new distributor relationships in China
2012 - CARCO SKW40, a purpose-built 40,000 lb. forestry skidder winch, is launched
2013 - BRADEN enters the track drive industry with the introduction of the TD50A
2014 - New sideboom application winches for CARCO are released in 18,000 lb and 25,000 lb. sizes
