Palakkad Sreeram is a Musician. He entered as a flutist in the industry, played flute for many films, for many music albums under many music directors from 1996. His ever first voice recording was done by Music Director Keeravani for the film Annamayya in Telugu. After that, A. R. Rahman the music director of young generations used sreeram’s enchanting voice for his films such as Padayappa, Uyire, Tajmahal, En swasakkattre and he also brilliantly used Sreeram’s multi-talents for his film re-recordings and another nonfilmi album “Vanaseimae”.

Early Life[edit]

An aquarian born on 16th February 1972 to Smt. Jayalaksmi and Sri. K. S. Lakshmi Narayanan in a village, Kavassery near Alathur, Palakkad district in Kerala.

Started learning music under his mother from very young age and also under Sri. Sundareswara bhagavathar, and he had an immense passion for Musical Instruments. His enthusiasm over instruments made him practice en-number of instruments for hours and hours with an extra care on its intensive gamakas which paved new paths of finger techniques of his own style and he is rather to be called as a perfectionist. As a professional musician, Sreeram is known more as a vocalist ( Play back singer) as well as a flautist and a keyboard artiste. In his own music projects, he himself plays a number of instruments in the studio.

As many others, he had also acquired a post graduation in Music from Calicut University and moved to Madras for his musical journey. Married to Baby, a vocalist, composer and have two children, Bharath , a child prodigy now nine years old and a daughter, Anagha is now five. Sreeram now owns a multi-faceted highly modern equipped recording studio “Swararnavam” .

Sreeram has given more enthralling songs under the Music Director Harris Jayraj, in his films such as Sami, Arasakshi, Arul, Kovil, Anyan of them the most popular is “Thirunaveli alwada” song in Sami film. His most tough song was under the ever great Ilayaraja, the song “Ulakame nee manithanai” in the film Ivan. Worked under Deva, S.A.Rajkumar, VidyaSagar, Mani Sarma, Devi Sriprasad, A.R.Rehana and sang many songs for other young music directors of next generations such as Yuvan Shankar Raja, Karthik Raja, Sreekanth Deva, G. V. Prakash etc.

As a Music Director

He has done music direction for two Malayalam films, “Mazhamegha Pravukal” and “Melvilasam Seriyanu”. Both the films include many beautiful songs and all great playback singers such as Jesudas, Janaki, K.S.Chithra, Sujatha, Jayachandran, Hariharan, Anuradha Sriram, Unnikrishnan has sung in his films. He has got many music albums to his credit. Re-mix works “Irandayirathil oruvan” and “Galatta Remix” was done for H M V audios of MGR songs. In both the albums Sreeram has sung the maximum number of songs. “Yanai Mukhavane” is a devotional music album released by Magna sound in which all the songs were written by his wife Dr.Babysreeram and sung by Sreeram. His audio company, Swararnavam has released devotional albums- “Padipporul” an Ayyappan devotional, “Mathrupranamam”.
