PBS Aerospace is the North American headquarters of PBS Group, an international engineering and manufacturing company specializing in aerospace propulsion systems, cryogenic equipment, and precision castings. The U.S. division, located in Roswell, Georgia, was established in 2025 to expand the company’s manufacturing capacity and partnerships within the United States defense and aerospace sectors.[1][2]

History

PBS Group traces its origins to 1814 in the Czech Republic. Over two centuries, the company has developed technologies in industrial manufacturing, aerospace propulsion, and cryogenics. Major milestones include the founding of the Velká Bíteš production facility in 1950, the development of starting systems for the L-39 Albatros trainer jet in 1973, and the serial production of the TJ100 turbojet engine beginning in 2003. More recent developments include cryogenic turboexpanders for hydrogen liquefaction (2020) and the SPARK40 auxiliary power unit (2023).[3]

North American Operations

In September 2025, PBS Aerospace inaugurated its North American headquarters in Roswell, Georgia. The facility employs approximately 50 people, with plans to scale to 100, and includes engine assembly, testing, and research functions. The opening received media coverage from outlets including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution[1], Atlanta Business Chronicle[2], FOX5 Atlanta[4], Global Atlanta[5], Defense Daily[6], and Aviation Maintenance Magazine.[7]
