PC Enterprises

PC Enterprises was a manufacturer of aftermarket upgrades for the IBM PCjr and Tandy 1000 EX/HX in the 1980s and 1990s.^[1]

Founded in 1984 by P. Steven Gregory Calabria, PC Enterprises initially only produced expansion upgrades for the IBM PCjr via the computer's "sidecar" modules. The first "sidecar" commercially available added a second floppy disk drive.^[1] By 1987, PC Enterprises was producing upgrade sidecars that expanded memory to 512K, an upgraded video card, a modem, an external hard drive, and a full-sized 101-key keyboard.^[2]

In 1992 PC Enterprises started producing upgrade boards for the Tandy 1000 EX/HX. Because the Tandy 1000 EX/HX was a PCjr clone, all of the upgrade products for the IBM PCjr were compatible with the Tandy with only minor modifications. By 1992 these upgrades included memory upgrades up to 8MB, a 9600-bps modem, and a combo VGA video card with an Ad Lib/Sound Blaster audio card.^[1]

By 1995 PC Enterprises was manufacturing upgrade motherboards for IBM PS/2 models 25, 25-286, and 30-286.^[3]
