PITAKA is a consumer electronics and lifestyle products brand based in Hong Kong, China. The company is dedicated to using the finest materials to simplify people's lives by building product ecosystems in a sustainable way. They design and sell cases, wallets, chargers, suitcases, and so on for the essentials of modern life around the world.
Meaning of PITAKA
PITAKA is the Sanskrit word used to describe baskets for holding scripts, and is referred to as a container of faith. What's important is what's inside the basket instead of the basket itself. That's what PITAKA aims to do, using durable materials to create innovative designs to help protect people's valuables and improve their lives without causing any disruption, so they can focus on the real important things.
History
PITAKA was created by James Zheng in 2015. With a passion for design and innovation, James gathered a team of designers, engineers, and creatives across multiple fields to create products that had never been seen before and could truly simplify people's lives.
The brand was first known to the public by making aramid fiber phone cases. They started to make magnetic phone cases and accessories to set up product ecosystems in 2016.
Over the years, PITAKA has expanded its product line and built more ecosystems, including PitaFlow for Tablets[1], a magnetic product system for iPads to improve work efficiency; PitaTag[2], a series of EDC gear with AirTag compartments to track things; and PitaGear, a collection of stylish, minimalist accessories for mobile devices.
And recently, PITAKA declared its new mission statement: to simplify our lives by building product ecosystems in smarter, sustainable ways and by using and reusing the finest materials.
Products
PITAKA makes aramid fiber phone cases[3], iPad cases including MagEZ Case Pro for iPad mini 6 that offers MagSafe-like charging capability[4], carbon fiber wallets, and magnetic wireless chargers such as MagEZ Slider[5]. And they will make suitcases and more lifestyle accessories too.
MagEZ Wallet UE
MagEZ Wallet UE, previously named MagWallet UE, is a modular and magnetic wallet made of durable yet lightweight carbon fiber. What's unique about the wallet is that it lets you flick open the wallet to access your cards with a single hand.[6]
MagEZ Juice
MagEZ Juice is a wireless charging power bank that comes with a charging dock that charges the power bank and the mobile device at the same time, so you won't misplace or forget to charge the power bank. It was awarded Contemporary Good Design 2019.[7]
