The PPP Extension Act of 2021 is a proposed United States law that would extend the Paycheck Protection Program through June 30, 2021, otherwise the program would end coverage for small businesses on March 31, 2021, by amending the Small Business Act and CARES Act.[1][2]

Provisions[edit]

Extension of covered period for Paycheck Protection Program[edit]

The bill would amend the Small Business Act and CARES Act to extend the covered period of the Paycheck Protection Program for those enrolled in the program, from March 31, 2021 to June 30, 2021. It would also instruct the administrator of the Small Business Administration from accepting new applictions for loans provided by the program between June 1, and June 30, 2021 except for applications recieved before June 1, 2021.

Determination of Budgetary Effects[edit]

The budgetary effects of the bill would not be entered on any of the PAYGO scorecards, exempting it from the budgetary rules of the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act of 2010 and H. Con. Res. 71 of the 115th Congress.
