Biography[edit]

After the school in the Colegio Nuestra Señora de Andacollo in Santiago de Chile he travel in 1992 for the first time through Europe: for a year he visit Germany, France, Spain, Portugal and study German and English. Back in Chile, he study Journalism in the Diego Portales University and than Cultural anthropology in the University of Chile, that leaves before finish it to go to Barcelona in 2002: here attends the master's degree in literary theory and comparative literature by the University of Barcelona and study catalan, French and in the literary workshops led by Leonardo Valencia and Joan-Ignasi Elias. In 2011 he is awarded the Spanish Nationality and decide to emigrate to Berlin, where actually lives since that year

Poetry[edit]

Pablo published his first poem in school days. Followed by Abecedario (Logroño 2012, Santiago de Chile 2017)[1]. available in English as Abecedary (2017)[2] –a David Shook translation with prologue by Will Alexander (Insert Blanc Press, Los Angeles 2017)[3] –, the audioleporello Usted (Berlin 2013) with works of electroacoustic music by composer Mario Peña y Lillol[4] launched in 2013 in Barcelona's Balaguer Gallery as part of the collective exhibition I don't beleve in you but I beleve in Love curated by Paola Marugán[5], texts in the anthology El tejedor en… Berlín (Sestao 2015)[6] published by Ernesto Estrella and Jorge Locane, and Extranjería (Santiago de Chile 2017)[7] with prologue by Diego Ramírez Gajardo (Carnicería Punk[8]with cover by Carola del Río[9]launched in Chile in public libraries with a reading tour in Arica, Santiago, Valparaíso, Concepción, Temuco, Puerto Montt and Punta Arenas.

Abecedario was even translated into Greek by Constance Tagopoulos and Marta Dios with a cover by Artemis Alcalay (Athens 2015)2, into German by Barbara Buxbaum and Johanna Menzinger with epilogue by José F.A. Oliver and cover by Ginés Olivares (Cologne 2017) and into Italian by Maurizio Fantoni Minnella in 2017. He participated in the literature Festival LEA in Athens5 in 2015, the George Town Literary Festival in Malaysia directed by Bernice Chauly (2015 and 2016)6 and in the Festival Internazionale di Poesia di Genova (2017) directed by Claudio Pozzani. 

In collaboration with Berlin musician Andi Meissner (e-guitar) he is forming the duo Jofre Meissner Project which repertoire includes poems from Extranjería and Abecedario. The duo premier his performance La edad ligera/The light age in the New York festival Crossroads in 2014. His poem LA EDAD LIGERA (in Extranjería) take part in the public performance Bombing of poems (Casagrande-Southbank Center) above the Jubilee Gardens in London in 20129. Into Spanish he has translated the poets Nora Gomringer and Adrian Kasnitz.

  • 2009 Lagar Prize by the the Chilean National Contest of Literature Gabriela Mistral (La Serena) for the poetry collection Abecedario. 
  • 2010 first prize at the Sant Andreu de la Barca Competition (in Spain) for his poem LA DANZA DE LA EXISTENCIA (Extranjería). 
  • 2016 Scholarship of literary creation by the Chilean Ministry of Culture for his poetry collection Berlin-Manila.
  • 2017 Stipendiate Resident at the Translation House Looren.
