The Pac-Man 45th Anniversary was a celebration of the Pac-Man series of video games since the release of the arcade cabinet Pac-Man on May 22, 1980. The anniversary took place throughout 2025, starting with late 2024.
Games
New
The first batch of episodes from Amazon's anthology series Secret Level released on December 10, 2024, with the sixth one titled "PAC-MAN: Circle". At The Game Awards 2024, a new entry of the Pac-Man franchise was revealed, Shadow Labyrinth, with the episode having served as a prequel and teaser for the game. Shadow Labyrinth released on July 18, 2025, and is a darker departure from the franchise. As a metroidvania, the player controls the Swordsman led by a machine known as PUCK who guides them through the maze.
Shortly after the release of Shadow Labyrinth, Atari revealed that their Atari 50 collection will be receiving downloadable content based on Namco games that had been ported to their systems. On top of this, a new Atari 2600+ model featuring a yellow design with Pac-Man art as well as wireless joysticks based on Pac-Man and the Ghost Gang opened for pre-orders.
In a Nintendo Direct on July 31, Bandai Namco revealed Pac-Man World 2 Re-PAC, a remake of 2002's Pac-Man World 2. This version features enhanced graphics as well as full voice acting, with Martin Sherman voicing Pac-Man.
