Paddy McDonnell burst onto the comedy scene in Northern Ireland in 2011 and within nine months was supporting acts like Des Bishop and Ardal O'Hanlon. From then McDonnell has established himself as a headline act up and down the down the island of Ireland.
Paddy's raucous storytelling has had audiences in fits of laughter from tales of working as a taxi man to everyday tales of being a husband and father. To date, McDonnell has had five one man shows but his Dagger show was the highlight of the Belfast Belly Laughs Festival.[1] in 2015, selling out and getting a 5 star review.
Paddy is a regular headliner at all the main Belfast comedy nights as well as being the first comedian to have played the West Belfast Féile six times. Some of comedy's biggest names have shared the stage with him, from Frankie Boyle, Jason Manford[2] Paddy Kielty and Andrew Maxwell to name a few.
In 2022 Paddy appeared on UTV (Ulster Television) on the "Secrets of the Comedy Circuit"[3] TV programme which aired on Thursday 10th November 2022. He sold out 2 shows in Belfast's Waterfront Hall in 2022 and in 2023 will play the SSE Arena Belfast.[4]
