Paintclub is an events business based in Galway, Ireland.[1] It was established by Burke, a graduate of Limerick School of Art and Design, in 2015.[2] The events usually take place in hospitality venues or online and host approximately thirty people.[3] Participants produce the same painting; typically, this will be a landscape or city skyline.[4][3]
Typically the clientele is between twenty-five and sixty years of age, and the cohort often consists of working mums.[3]
Burke claims that her time as a student inspired her, “in college, we’d work late every evening until 1 am to 2 am, with loud music and a bottle of wine".[5]
In March 2020, Paintclub switched to online events and began offering interactive tutorials via Facebook Live.[1]
