The Pakenham East Depot, located east of Pakenham station (and the future Pakenham East station) in Victoria, Australia, is the main maintenance and storage area for Metro Trains Melbourne's Pakenham and Cranbourne line trains. It is after the end of the Pakenham line however before Nar Nar Goon station (operated by V/Line). Built by Evolution Rail as part of the $2.3 billion High Capacity Metro Trains project, the 118 ha depot includes a driver training facility, which teaches drivers how to operate the trains using a variety of different methods and technology.[1]

The depot can accommodate up to 30 seven-car trains. The depot also houses trains for the Cranbourne line, with Sunbury and Airport trains to be stored there in the future.[2] The facilities at the depot include a state-of-the art train maintenance facility, an office building, underfloor wheel lathe facilities, graffiti cleaning, test tracks, and train washing infrastructure. Due to technology in the HCMTs, train movement can be done autonomously at low speeds through remote driver control.[3]

Alongside the depots other facilities, a driver training simulator is present onsite.[3]
