During the reigns of Shubhakara I and his elder son Shivakara II, a series of Pala invasions weakened and disintegrated the Bhauma kingdom.[2][3]
Invasion
Devapala's conquests in Odisha. The success over Utkala is referred to in the Bhagalpur and Badal copperplates of Narayanapala and appears to have been complete. Orissa had been annexed to the Pala Empire[disambiguation needed] dominion. Taranatha also speaks of conquest of Odisha by Devapala. The king of Odisha defeated by Devapala was most probably Shivakara II.[4]
