From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Panchayat Cricket Ground or (PCG) is a cricket ground in Botingoo, Sopore, Baramulla District in the Indian administerd state of Jammu and Kashmir. The ground is small but various tournaments are organised throughout the year.[citation needed] It is located in the lush green village of Botingoo near Eidgah Botingoo. All the cricket teams of surrounding areas play here throughout the year.

History[edit]

The PCG was actually an apple garden. Realising that there is no ground for them to play, the local youth of the area cleared the garden off by cutting the trees in one night in the 1990s. The previous cricket tournament was T-10 knock-out in which 16 teams of the surrounding area's participated and the final was played between the 2 local teams of botingoo . In presence of large no. of sepectators the crushing, nail-biting final between MARS 11 & BOTINGOO 11,BOTINGOO 11 held their nerves and won the gaint finalay by 5 runs, Shafat Arif of BTG 11 was declared MoM while Nisar Ahmad of MARS 11 was declared man of the tournament.
