Pandit Shekhar Dixit (born 20 January 1984) is an Indian farmer leader and social worker from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.[1] He serves as the national president of the Rashtriya Kisan Manch, a farmers' organization involved in advocating for agricultural welfare, minimum support prices, and the resolution of sugarcane grower dues in Uttar Pradesh.[2][3]

Activism and Career

Dixit began his involvement in public advocacy and rural community issues at an early age. He later joined the Kisan Manch, an organization originally structured with guidance from former Prime Minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh.[4] He served as the president of the Uttar Pradesh state unit of the organization before it transitioned into the national platform under the name Rashtriya Kisan Manch, where he took charge as the national president.[2][4]

As a leader of the organization, Dixit has coordinated demonstrations concerning agrarian distress, minimum support prices, and land acquisition issues across various regions of Uttar Pradesh.[4][5] During the 2021–2022 agricultural agitations, his forum organized press briefings and community assemblies to highlight issues facing sugarcane growers and small-scale farmers, demanding structured reforms in state procurement pricing.[1][3]
