Panos Vlahos (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.; born 1985) is a Greek actor and singer-songwriter. He rose to national prominence through a series of leading roles on Greek prime-time television, including Tzortzis in the Mega daily drama I zoi tis allis (2009–2012),[1] and Leonidas Vasilias in the Mega comedy Oi Vasiliades (2012–2013).[2] He later starred as the shoemaker Antonis in the Cosmote TV period crime series 17 Klostes (2024), and works parallel to acting as a singer-songwriter, headlining an annual summer concert at the Technopolis cultural centre in Athens.[3][4]

Early life

Vlahos was born in Voula, in the southern suburbs of Athens, on 10 March 1985, with family roots in Kaloskopi, Phocis. He studied maritime studies at the University of Piraeus and briefly worked for a shipping company in Voula before turning to acting. He trained at the Neo Elliniko Theatro school of Giorgos Armenis in Athens and later continued his studies in New York.[5][6]

Career

Television

From 2009 to 2012, Vlahos played Tzortzis Papadopoulos, one of the leads, in I zoi tis allis (Η Ζωή της Άλλης), a daily drama on Mega adapted from the Mexican telenovela Querida Enemiga. The series became one of the most-watched Greek daily dramas of its period, drawing wide press coverage and a large audience, and made him widely recognisable nationally.[1]

He subsequently took the leading role of Leonidas Vasilias in the Mega daily comedy Oi Vasiliades (2012–2013), alongside Martha Karagianni, Kostas Koklas and Gerasimos Skiadaresis.[2][7] From 2013 he was one of the original leads of the ALPHA prime-time comedy Min archizeis ti mourmoura as Charis Marangos, appearing across the first two seasons and departing mid-third season in early 2016.[8] He then starred as Dimitris Argyros in the ALPHA series Angeliki (2020–2021).[5] His American television credits include a 2018 guest appearance on NBC's Days of Our Lives and a role in the Netflix series Selena: The Series.[9]

In 2024 Vlahos took the leading role of Antonis, a village shoemaker in postwar rural Greece, in 17 Klostes, a six-episode crime drama miniseries directed by Sotiris Tsafoulias and produced for Cosmote TV, based on the novel by Panos Dimakis. His central performance drew particular critical attention: Newsbreak wrote that he "steals the show" as Antonis,[9] and a review at Lord of the Series identified the character construction around Vlahos's performance as one of the reasons the series stood out in Greek television.[10]

Film

Vlahos was cast in Bells, the first Greek-set feature by director Adam Christian Clark, alongside an ensemble that includes Stefania Goulioti, Klelia Andriolatou, Themis Bazaka, Makis Papadimitriou and Pygmalion Dadakaridis.[11]

Theatre

Vlahos has worked extensively in Greek theatre, collaborating with directors including Dimitris Mavrikios, Nikos Karathanos, Lakis Lazopoulos, Petros Filippidis, Kostas Gakis, Yannis Kakleas and Nikos Kalogeropoulos, with whom he began his career.[6] In summer 2014 he played Xanthias in Aristophanes' The Frogs at the ancient theatre of Epidaurus.[6] In 2016 he made his New York stage debut in a production of Dario Fo's Mistero Buffo at the Balcony Theatre, which subsequently transferred to the Hollywood Fringe Festival.[6][5]

Music

Vlahos performs as a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, bouzouki, baglamas, accordion, double bass and traditional Greek percussion.[6] He has released studio material including the album Pligi empneusis (Πληγή έμπνευσης, "Wound of Inspiration").[4][12] He has performed annual summer concerts at the Technopolis cultural centre of the City of Athens, with performances documented at the venue in 2024, 2025 and 2026.[3][4][12][13] Reporting his summer 2026 return to the venue, the newspaper Ethnos described the concert as combining previously released material from Pligi empneusis with new songs still evolving in performance.[3]
