Paper Abortion, also known as statutory abortion,[1], is a term that refers to the proposed ability of the father of a child to opt out of any rights, privileges, and responsibilities toward the child, including financial support,[2] without affecting the woman's choice of giving birth or not. By this means, men would be able to deny fatherhood.[1][3][4]
Debate and Public Attention
Pro Arguments
It will give men and women as equal opportunities as possible.[5] Furthermore, it would give men rights when they are tricked into parenthood,[5], raped,[6][7][8] or their semen is stolen[9]. No contraceptive is 100% reliable.[10][2] It will not only emancipate men but would also give women more freedom. It will decrease the abortion rate. Women who want to become mothers but don't want to use sperm donors will have a legal way to become pregnant without a man. [8]
Contra Arguments
The denial of parenthood meets the same counterarguments[11][12] as common abortion does:[13] use birth control or don't have sex at all.[14][15]
Patriarchal View
Anne Sophia Hermansen indicates a sexist statement behind the denial of Paper Abortion. Men are seen as fully responsible for their own actions, having sex without birth control indiscriminately, without wanting to take responsibility. Women are viewed as victims, not responsible for their own actions at all.[5]
Feminism
Feminists are very divided on this. Some feminists want equal rights and promote this idea. Other feminists deny it.[5]

Never have men been so bitchlike

Quote of a feminist for Paper Abortion[2]:
Consent to sex does not and has not for a very long time, been the same as consent to becoming a parent. The invention of birth control has seen to that. Plenty of people had sex during a time where they would not have wanted to get pregnant including high school, college, casual hook-ups, FWB relationships, on the third date, when they just got married, etc etc and for some reason can see this happen in their own lives but don't think that extends to men.

Paper Abortion by Country (Alphabetical)
There is no paper abortion in any country yet. But there is a huge debate in many countries. Scandinavia is particularly discussing this option.
Denmark
Statutory abortion was first introduced in Denmark in 2000 by the socioeconomic Henrik Platz. He views the subject from an egalitarian perspective, where women and men should be equal under the law. According to a Gallup poll from 2014, 7 out of 10 Danes want to legalize paper abortion.[1]
