Param is a trademark of TURK Elektronik Para A.Ş. It was established on August 5, 2014 to operate within the scope of the Law on Payment and Securities Settlement Systems, Payment Services and Electronic Money Institutions dated June 27, 2013 and numbered 6493 and the regulation and communiqué of the relevant law dated June 27, 2014. It was also one of the first two companies to receive an operating license on August 27, 2015.[1]
After obtaining an electronic money institution license, the company further strengthened its operations by obtaining Mastercard and PCI DSS certificates. In addition, the company became the first electronic money institution to become a member of the Interbank Card Center A.Ş. and started prepaid card distribution activities by obtaining the Troy license.
Although the official start date is 2014, the experienced company management has actually been involved in many different projects in the field of payment systems and prepaid card systems since 2004, reaching hundreds of thousands of individual users and millions of transactions.[2]
