Pario Holiday Parks

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Pario Holiday Parks (also known as Pario Leisure Parks) is a privately held holiday park operator based in Rhyl, Denbighshire, Wales. The company owns and manages four parks across North Wales, providing both short-stay holiday accommodation and holiday homes for private ownership.

History and founding

The company was established in March 2005[1] as Pario Leisure Group Limited following the purchase of Marine Holiday Park in Rhyl by entrepreneur Wyn Williams. Initially operating a single site, the business expanded through acquisitions over the following decade, adding Tan Rallt Holiday Park near Abergele, Bryn Defaid Holiday Park in Llysfaen, and Gimblet Rock Holiday Park in Pwllheli.

Pario remains a family-run[2] enterprise. In recent years, Wyn Williams has been joined in management roles by his daughters, Paris and Rio.[3]

Developments

Pario Holiday Parks funded a £500,000 redevelopment of Marine Holiday Park in 2021[4] to add new beach huts, contactless check-in ability and additional on-site facilities including an ice cream parlour

The company funded a further major development of Marine Holiday Park in 2023[5], adding three new bars to the site

In June 2025, the company introduced a new brand identity and launched an updated website[6] consolidating information and booking services for all four resorts. The unified platform enables online reservations for holiday accommodation and facilitates enquiries about holiday homes for sale.

Holiday Parks in the portfolio

Pario now owns and operates four holiday parks in North Wales. Each has its own distinct character and mix of facilities.

Marine Holiday Park, Rhyl A seaside family holiday park offering holiday home ownership as well as various holiday accommodation options (lodges, caravans) for short breaks and family holidays.

Marine Holiday Park has an expansive range of on-site entertainment made up of a heated indoor swimming pool, amusement arcades, children’s play areas, sports bar and evening entertainment at its on-site Mariners Club. There is also a children’s activity programme available in keeping with its family friendly image.

Tan Rallt Holiday Park & Spa, Abergele A countryside retreat[7] combining relaxation with luxury facilities. The park includes a spa and gym, restaurant, children’s play areas, together with holiday homes for sale built by leading UK manufacturers. It offers tranquillity while still being reasonably accessible.

Bryn Defaid Holiday Park, Colwyn Bay (near the coast, inland setting) Set away from the busiest coastal areas, Bryn Defaid offers peace and cliff top views[8], together with holiday home ownership (caravans & lodges). The facilities on-site are limited but owners are able to make use of the facilities at its sister park Tan Rallt which is located a few miles away.

Bryn Defaid also has a luxury farmhouse cottage available to hire on-site for holiday breaks. This is operated separately from the holiday park and has its’ own personal facilities including an outdoor hot tub, pizza oven, BBQ and self catering amenities

Gimblet Rock Holiday Park, Pwllheli The most recent addition to the Pario portfolio[9]. Located on the Llyn Peninsula, right by the beach and promenade at Pwllheli, Gimblet Rock combines coastal views, luxury accommodation and holiday home ownership. It is promoted as offering both holidays to let and holiday homes to own, targeting those who enjoy traditional British seaside breaks complemented by coastal scenery and direct beach access.

Recognition

Pario Holiday Parks has received several regional tourism awards. Marine Holiday Park was named Holiday Park of the Year at the Go North Wales Tourism Awards[10], while Gimblet Rock Holiday Park has been granted a five-star rating by Visit Wales[11].

The holiday parks have attracted celebrity guests over the years including ex Everton goalkeeper Neville Southall MBE[12]. Marine Holiday Park was also visited by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson[13] in 2022.

Covid 19 Response

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Pario Holiday Parks offered over 250 holiday caravans as accommodation to NHS staff free of charge in an effort to ease the burden placed on them during the pandemic. These caravans were made available at Marine and Tan Rallt Holiday Parks, both of which are situated close to Glan Clwyd Hospital. <ref>Clarke, Scott (22/3/2020).
