paris_monster (also written as Paris Monster) is a rock band from Brooklyn, New York. The band was formed in 2012. Members include Josh Dion (vocals, drums, keyboards) and Geoff Kraly (bass guitar, modular synthesiser.)[1] The band is best known for their musical virtuosity, as each member often plays multiple instruments simultaneously; the two band members are said to sound like a band of four or five people.

RELEASES In 2013, the group released its first EP, "It Once Had Been Kind." It includes the tracks: 1. A Vision Complete 2. (I'm Not Gonna Miss This) Dive 3. Pride 4. John 5. Grandma

An animated music video for "Pride" was also released.[2]

In 2015, they released the single "The Cause Of It All." In 2015, they released the singles "Had Damon Caught His Sloane," "Ain't No Movin' Me," and "Winter's Hard." In 2016, they released the single "Ape."[3]

In 2018, the band released "Moles," the first single from their yet-unreleased first full-length album "Lamplight."

Live Performances paris_monster played some of their earliest gigs at Rockwood Music Hall, a club in the Lower East Side area of Manhattan. [4] Roots drummer Questlove invited the group perform a set at The 9th annual Roots Picnic.[5]

The band has toured extensively in Europe and the United States.[6]

Song-Writing Geoff Kraly writes the group's lyrics, and Josh Dion writes the melodies. Kraly has cited Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Monty Python as influences.[7]

Videos paris_monster have published a series of live-performance videos, created with the Meinl Cymbals company. Videos include "Vision Complete," "Ape," "Water To The Well," and "Hot Canyon Air."[8]
