Intro

ParkHub is a Dallas-based technology company that provides software and hardware services for the global parking industry. The company’s products provide multiple payment options, real-time reporting of parking revenue, support for dynamic pricing, and inventory availability and control. ParkHub’s technology authenticates and integrates with some of the nation’s renowned pre-paid parking and ticketing providers.

Company History & Milestones

ParkHub was founded in 2010 by founder and CEO, George Baker Sr. Baker grew up working in the parking industry at his father’s company Parking Company of America. George was a regular fixture in his families parking organization, starting at age 12 sweeping and re-striping his family's lots and performing maintenance and vernal upkeep on these assets. Eventually, as Director of Operations, George managed parking facilities on a national level, from airports to office buildings to event parking.

Building on his experience, insight into the industry, and challenges he witnessed on both the operational  and consumer side, Baker left his family business and founded ParkHub.com in 2010, offering consumers an easy way to locate, reserve, and pay for event parking online. The technology was originally designed as a consumer-facing parking reservation application that allowed drivers to search for parking via their mobile devices, then purchase advance parking spots based on price and location..[1]. As more consumers adopted mobile parking searches, and advance sales became popular from services such as ParkHub, Baker saw a prime opportunity to revolutionize his company and stay ahead of the curve.

As that business grew, George recognized a need for an on-site validation and mobile point of sale solution for parking operators, as well as an opportunity to provide operators with a robust, cloud-based management system. In 2014, ParkHub shifted from B2C to B2B model by transitioning from a public-facing reservation site to an industrial grade transaction layer utility with new products Prime and Portal coming out of development.[2]

In January 2015, ParkHub launched its first tier client, the American Airlines Center. By the end of 2015, ParkHub had launched AT&T Stadium and Levi’s Stadium and was working with three large parking operators[3].

In February 2016, ParkHub’s technology was utilized by SP+ Gameday at Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco, CA[4]. ParkHub joined SP+ Gameday at Super Bowl LI in Houston, TX in 2017[5] and again at Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis, MN, after announcing a Master Service Agreement with SP+ Gameday in 2018[6].
