Parked is a non-profit disc golf think tank blog founded in 2016 by Josh Woods, professor of sociology at West Virginia University. It was established to "broaden the discussion of disc golf, generate insight on the sport through sociological theory and scientific research, celebrate disc golf photography, help grow the sport and sustain a culture of inclusion and fun."[1][2] It is one of the most important and authoritative sources of research on disc golf.[3][4][5]

Writers[edit]

The site features contributions from Woods alongside other writers and disc golf personalities, including four-time Professional World Champion and Chairperson of the PDGA Women's Committee Valarie Jenkins, Disc Golf Hall of Fame inductee J. Gary Dropcho, disc golf pioneer Jim Palmeri, and West Virginia Public Broadcasting News Director Jesse Wright.[1]

Funding[edit]

Parked is partially underwritten by a grant from the Professional Disc Golf Association and was a 2017 PDGA Innovation Grant winner.[6]
