Partech
Introduction
Partech is a global technology investment firm headquartered in Paris with offices in Berlin, San Francisco, Dakar, Lagos, Nairobi, and Dubai. It was named as one of the top venture investors in France.[1]
History
Partech was founded in 1982 in San Francisco as the corporate venture arm of Paribas Bank, originally named Paribas Technologies.[2] It subsequently became an independent venture capital firm and in 1996 it established a European presence with the opening of its Paris office. In 2008, the firm was acquired by two of its managing partners, Jean-Marc Patouillaud and Philippe Collombel.[3]
Investments
Partech invests in technology companies and has invested in companies such as Alan[4], Brevo[5], Fresha[6], Yoco[7] and XFarm[8]. Its portfolio extends over 40 countries and is invested across five fund strategies: Seed, Venture, Growth, Africa, Impact.
The Seed fund is known as Partech Entrepreneur and its most recent fund, Partech Entrepreneur IV, closed in December 2022 with €120 million in commitments.[9] The most recent Venture fund, Partech Venture, was announced in 2023 with a target of €360 million.[10] The firm closed its second Africa-focused fund, Partech Africa II, in 2024 at €280 million.[11] The most recent Growth fund, Partech Growth II, closed in 2023 with €650 million in capital.[12] The Impact fund closed with €300 million in commitments.[13]
