Partisans 1941

Partisans 1941 is a stealth-oriented tactics game that is similar to Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, but with added resource managment.

Gameplay

Partisans 1941 bears a lot of resemblance to Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun and Desperados III. The enemies in the game have cones of vision which the partisans must avoid to remain undetected. Most characters can kill enemy soldiers with a knife with minimal noise. Partisans 1941 deviates from the formula by adding character progression and base management.

Each partisan earns experience points over the course of the game with which they can unlock new abilities. Each partisan has at least one unique ability to set him apart from his comrades, e.g. Zorin can throw knives and Morozov can lure enemies from their posts by whistling.

In another deviation from the Commandos formula, when the partisans are detected and the alarm is raised, they enter a "weapons-free" mode in which they fire at will at any enemy in sight. Characters can take cover behind objects such as crates.

In Shadow Tactics, each hero has a fixed inventory of items at the start of each mission, but in Partisans 1941, the partisans must scavenge their weapons from their enemies. Any weapons they collect in a mission carries over to the next.

Between missions, there is a base management sub-game. The player must develop the woodland hideout of the partisans, building facilities for food and building materials. The player must keep his partisans fed, or their skills will suffer for malnutrition and they may even die.

Story

The game is set in Russia during World War 2. The main character is Commander Zorin, who escapes from a prisoner-of-war camp and then starts a small band of partisans to fight a guerilla war against the German invaders.

• Commander Zorin - Can throw knives.
• Morozov - Can lure enemies from their posts by whistling.
• Valya - Can drop poisoned bottles of vodka that enemy soldiers will drink, and then they pass out. Is also a deadly shot with a rifle.
• Fetisov - Can kill multiple enemies in a cone with a submachine gun.
• Sanek - Can masquerade as a civilian, distract enemies.
• Nikitin - Can quickly kill multiple enemies in a circle with a dagger.
• Beloserova - Can kill multiple enemies in a circle with a pistol.
• Trofim - Can kill multiple enemies in a cone with a shotgun.
