Pat Connors (born March 1, 1955), better known by the ring name Pat Anderson,[1] is an American retired professional wrestler. Connors was a multiple time tag team champion across many wrestling organizations with tag partner and fellow Anderson family member C. W. Anderson.[2]

Early career[edit]
Pat Connors was trained by Ivan Koloff.[1][3]
Becoming an Anderson[edit]
Connors wanted to wrestle as an Anderson and his trainer Ivan Koloff agreed that he should. Koloff contacted Rocky Anderson who was the head trainer at Gene Anderson's gym and also an Anderson family member. Koloff told Rocky that he had a guy who looked and wrestled like an Anderson. Rocky came to an event Connors was working in Monroe, North Carolina and liked what he saw. Connors was given permission to use the Anderson gimmick by Rocky with the blessings of Gene Anderson. Afterwards, Connors began working as a tag team with Rocky for a brief time.[4][5][6]
Carolina Championship Wrestling Association (1993–1995)[edit]
Meeting C. W. Anderson[edit]
During an event for Carolina Championship Wrestling Alliance (CCWA), Connors was watching C. W. Anderson's match and was impressed. C. W. Anderson was working under a mask as El Chico at the time. Connors went to the booker of CCWA, Jim Massingale, and asked him if he would put C. W. and himself together as a tag team. Connors already had the match lined up before he ever approached C. W. Anderson. Connors introduced himself to C. W. and the two talked for a while, Connors offered C. W. the tag team work and he accepted. Connors contacted Rocky Anderson and asked for permission to make C. W. an Anderson. Rocky told Connors to use his judgement and C. W. became an Anderson. Connors and C. W. Anderson wrestled as cousins of the Anderson family. During their time as a tag team Connors and C. W. won tag team championship titles in 9 different wrestling promotions including the NWA World Tag Team Championship titles. They also held the Carolina Championship Wrestling Association (CCWA), Continental Wrestling Alliance (CWA) and Southern Wrestling Association (SWA) Tag Team Championship titles at the same time in 1994.[4][5][6]
During his time with Carolina Championship Wrestling Association(CCWA) Anderson and C. W. Anderson won the CCWA Tag Team Championship titles 3 times.[7][8]
Southern Championship Wrestling (1994–1998)[edit]
Anderson performed for Southern Championship Wrestling between 1994 and 1998. During this time, Anderson, teaming with C. W. Anderson won the SCW Tag Team Championship titles 2 times.[2] The first title win happened on June 15, 1996 when Anderson and C. W. Anderson defeated David Donnelly and Jimmy Torture. The second title win happened on January 17, 1998 when Anderson and C. W. Anderson defeated Christian York and Cueball Carmichael.[9][10]
National Wrestling Alliance (1996–1997)[edit]
During his time with National Wrestling Alliance Anderson and C. W. Anderson were managed by Dexter J. Holley.[11]
Anderson and C. W. Anderson win the National Wrestling Alliance NWA World Tag Team Championship titles on September 14, 1996 after defeating Bobby Fulton and Jackie Fulton.[12][13] Their reign lasted until August 1997 when the titles were vacated.[14][15][16]
In 1996, Anderson trained aspiring professional wrestler Preston Quinn.[17][18]
NWA 2000 (1997–1998)[edit]
Anderson started performing for NWA 2000 in 1997.[9] On February 6, 1998, Anderson and C. W. Anderson defeated Big Slam and Slash Walker to win the vacant NWA 2000 Tag Team Championship titles.[2][19]
Vanguard Championship Wrestling (2005)[edit]
Anderson, who had already retired in 1999 after he broke his back, performed in his last match working for Vanguard Championship Wrestling in 2005 once again teaming with C. W. Anderson.[9]
Personal life[edit]
Although he was billed as such at various times, Connors is not actually related to Gene Anderson, Ole Anderson, Bryant Anderson, Rocky Anderson, C. W. Anderson or any other members of the Anderson family.[5][6]
