Patrick Block

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Patrick Block (born March 13, 1958)[1] is an American Disney comics writer, artist and lecturer.[2] He was nominated for a Harvey Award for 'Best Original Story' and has produced many highly sought after artworks in oil, watercolor and other mediums that have been praised for being in a style reminiscent of foundational Disney comics creator/painter Carl Barks. [3][4]

Block was approved by Barks to illustrate his last comic book story, a 28 page Donald Duck adventure story, titled Somewhere In Nowhere, that Barks provided a synopsis for and co-wrote with John Lustig. Barks authorized Block to pencil and ink the story for him, because Block's art style is reminiscent of Barks' classic stories from the Golden Age of Comic Books. Barks wrote insightful comments to Block on the originals as he evaluated his progress on the story. Creation of the story took place in several stages throughout 1996–97.[5][6] Somewhere In Nowhere first saw print in Italy in 2000.[7] Barks later asked Block to ink his final comic book work, a series of 8 Disney comic book covers.
