Patrick Burleigh
Patrick Burleigh is an American writer and screenwriter.[1][2][3] Burleigh graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in English and received his master's degree in Anglo-Irish Literature from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.[4]
Early life[edit]
Burleigh was born in New York City and raised in Santa Monica, California.[5] He inherited a rare genetic mutation that significantly impacted his childhood called Familial Male Limited Precocious Puberty, which he wrote about in a widely-read personal essay for New York Magazine.[6][7]
Career[edit]
Upon graduation from Trinity, Burleigh acted in television and commercials while writing plays and screenplays.[8] After he sold his original animated film Wish to Prana Studios with co-writer Will Widger, he quit acting to focus on writing.[9] He adapted David Guterson's novel East of the Mountains for producer Rachael Horovitz and adapted Ping-Pong Diplomacy for producer Anne Carey. He was a 2017 Humanitas playwriting fellow and one of four writers in the Marvel Studios writers program.[10] He did uncredited writing on Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp and wrote Peter Rabbit 2 with Will Gluck for Sony Pictures.[3]
