Pattison Education Group
Introduction: Pattison Education Group is a chain of English language schools based in China, primarily in Harbin, Heilongjiang. They provide classes in conversational English, test preparation, interview preparation, IELTS and TOEFL, and various other language training skills. Classes are scheduled seven days a week and are taught by teachers from the United Kingdom, Canada, America, and Australia, though these teachers work alongside a large group of Chinese teachers and other local staff members.[1]
History: Pattison Education Group was founded in 2008 and has grown to include five branches around the city of Harbin and a newer location in Daqing, located roughly 90 minutes from Harbin. In addition, the Pattison Group has a number of other schools serving the varied interests and needs of students of all ages:
Ideas Children’s School: Using Pearson curriculum for students aged 4-12
Eaton International Kindergarten: Using play-based learning for children 18 months-5 years
No.3 International High School (International Department): A locally-affiliated high school utilizing an American high school curriculum. Students graduate with an American high school diploma.
Size and Accomplishments: Pattison Education Group currently makes up 60% of the education market in the northeastern area of China and 70% of the educational market in its home base of Harbin. Pattison has been honored as an “Excellent Foreign Language Training Institution” by the China Annual Education Committee, as well as an “Influential Foreign Language Training Institution for University Students.” Pattison is also the only school in Heilongjiang authorized to use AEAS training classes for students preparing to study in Australia. Combined pass rates for all English language exams for former Pattison students has regularly exceeded 93%.[2]
