Paul Damixie is a DJ, producer, remixer at Romanian label HaHaHa Production, former DJ of the Radio Killer project.

Childhood[edit]

He was born in Timișoara, and his first contact with music was at 10 years old. He met some DJs in a club in Timisoara, where his parents used to work, and that was the moment when he started to look more into the field. As he grew up, his passion turned into a real job.[1]

Radio Killer Period[edit]

Starting with September 2009, Paul Damixie became the DJ of the HaHaHa Production project - Radio Killer- which at the time was just releasing its first single: “Voila”. “Voila” it was the most broadcasted song from the fall of 2009 both in Romania and Russia and it was also broadcasted in countries like Ukraine, Turkey, Italy, Poland, France and the Czech Republic.[2][3]

The Radio Killer project was released in 2009 through a very interesting campaign titled - “Who is Radio Killer?”- which generated many comments and reactions about the identity of the artists behind this project. The identity of the seven producers behind the Radio Killer project was revealed within a few months, until the spring of 2010: Smiley, Elefunk (Serban Cazan), Cell Block, Karie, Boogie Man (Don Baxter), Crocodealer (Alex Velea) and Paul Damixie.[4] In 2010, they succeed to win the “Best New Act” prize at the Romanian Music Awards. The second single, “Be Free”, enjoyed also a lot of international success, being broadcast in France, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Portugal, Greece, Norway and managed to rank first in Spain. In autumn of 2010, Radio Killer launched “Lonely Heart”, the song that introduced the new voice of the project - Lee Heart. The song reached the top of the charts in the UK, France and Russia and was introduced in BBC Radio One playlist, Radio Killer being the first Romanian dance project to succeed this performance.[5][6]

Solo Career[edit]

On October 22nd, 2015, the same day that Adelle released her comeback hit - “Hello” -, Paul Damixie made a remix of the British singer’s song and uploaded it on his YouTube channel. Paul Damixie’s remix managed to collect about 1 million searches on the Shazam app and countless views on SoundCloud and YouTube and attracted the attention of buzzfeed.com publishers.[7][8] The following year, this remix brought Paul Damixie the iHeart Radio 2016 (Remix of the Year) award, being the most listened remix in the United States. The award was handed to him by Steve Angello, a former Swedish House Mafia member and one of the world`s leading DJ’s, in Miami, at the “2016 Remix Awards”.[9]

Shortly after winning this award, he released “Time”, featuring Feli, a song that was composed and produced in HaHaHa Production studios.

In the spring of 2017, Paul Damixie come into the public’s attention with “Get Lost”. The single exceeds now 6,000,000 plays on Spotify and 700,000 Shazams. What’s more, this single is licensed all over the world through Universal Music Germany and Ultra Music. The track achieved 88th place in Global Top Shazam and reached the top four most sought-after songs in Romania and Russia.[10][11] The song was also featured on the show “Global Show”, by the show`s presenter, Tony Aguilar, a show broadcast in 12 countries Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, The Dominican Republic, Paraguay.[12]

Passions[edit]

Besides his passion for music, Paul Damixie has also a great passion for video games. Some of his favorites are: FIFA, Rainbow Six, Call of Duty, The Witcher, Assassin`s Creed, GTA. Names like Axwell ^ Ingrosso, Martin Solveig, Calvin Harris, Duke Dumont, Disclosure are on the list of DJs’ he likes.
