Paul Garde (December 18, 1926 – July 21, 2021)[1] was a French linguist and Slavist. He has made contributions to general accentology and historical Slavic accentology. During the Yugoslav Wars he has published a number of books and articles on the conflicts and their historical contexts. He has translated poems of Fyodor Tyutchev. He was a professor of Slavistics at the University of Provence from 1964 to 1989[2] and a corresponding member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts from 2006.[3]
