Krabbe played football in his youth for amateur club KVV Losser. In 1973 he was recruited by FC Twente, where he mainly played in the youth team. He made his debut for Twente on 15 May 1976, in a home game against Telstar. The following season he played his second and last game for Twente, at home against Go Ahead Eagles. However, Krabbe was regularly on the reserve bench. Krabbe left for SC Heracles in the 1978–79 season. In December 1979 he stopped his professional career because of an injury he suffered during his time at Twente. He returned to KVV Losser and became youth coach in addition to being a player. Krabbe followed the coaching training and after completion became coach of Hoofdklasse team Sportclub Enschede. He later trained KVV Losser, Quick '20 and HSC '21, with whom he won the overall national championship in 1999.

In the 2001/2002 season he was manager of FC Zwolle and won the title in the Eerste Divisie with this club. Despite this title, Krabbe decided not to continue. Krabbe then started working as an account manager and was successively active as a coach for STEVO (promotion to the Hoofdklasse), SC Enschede, (champion and promotion to the Hoofdklasse), and HSC '21. In 2008, Eerste-divisionist FC Eindhoven showed interest, but Krabbe chose to stay at HSC '21.

In October 2008, Krabbé was appointed manager of FC Emmen, where he succeeded the dismissed Gerry Hamstra. This would also be his last season. Krabbe left FC Emmen and returned to the old nest at HSC '21. In May 2011 he became champion in the Sunday hoofdklasse C with the Haaksbergenaren, and he was promoted to the Topklasse. As of the 2012/2013 season, Krabbe moved to SVZW from Wierden, which plays in the Saturday Hoofdklasse C. His employment ended on 9 April 2014, after he was dismissed due to disappointing results. After not being active in football for a long time, Krabbe returned to his old love Sportclub Enschede as head coach in the 2016/2017 season.

After the end of the 2017/2018 season, Krabbé decided to end his coaching career. In the following season (2018/2019) Krabbe became assistant to coach Jeroen Kiepman at Sunday 3rd division club VV Victoria '28 from Enschede. In the 2019/2020 season, Krabbe will be responsible for Sunday 2nd division club FC Suryoye/Mediterraneo.
