Paul Thomas Marlow (6 March 1941 – 28 October 2015) was an American Film Director, Explosive designer, Weapon Manufacturer and author who was director of research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology at the University of Cambridge.[1][2][3] Between 1971-1980, he played a key role in documenting the Blue Angels.
Fathered by Nick Marlow an inventor and engineer owned and operated a small company called Marlow industrials.
Nick and Barbara moved to southern California when Nick was recruited to work for Lockheed and they lived there for about 4 years. Nick got transferred to Sunnyvale Lockheed when Paul was around 16 years old.
Paul graduated from Santa Clara High School in 1959 after winning the Science Fair Award for that year. He was also a member of the ROTC program there but dropped out when he constantly fainted after about 6 minutes of “standing at attention”.
A member of Hells angels Hell’s Angels Santa Cruz Chapter and had some adventures with them.
During the summer vacation of 1961 he took a crosscountry trip to Florida (he answered an ad in the newspaper to transport a vehicle from California to florida for a family that were relocating there) Once there he met a Puerto Rican named Miguel (don’t remember his last name but your dad does) He ended up in Puerto Rico and hung out there for awhile and I think he got a job on a movie set and was introduced to the CAMERA. He liked the idea of being a cameraman.
He went into the armed forces and was stationed at San Antonio Texas where he was a documentary photographer for them (ROTC paid off).
After the army he got a job at Boeing in Washington as a documentary photographer, where he got involved with filming the Blue Angels.
