Paul Parris

Paul Parris (born Paul Adams on 19 June 1975) is a British actor and director, best known for his role as Matthew Pearson in the long-running BBC school drama, Grange Hill, from 1988–92. He has also made various other appearances in television, such as The Bill, Casualty, Neighbours and EastEnders. He later appeared as series regular Bruno di Gradi (or Barry Grade) in Nickelodeon's Renford Rejects.

In 1993 Parris starred alongside Desmond Barrit, Brenda Blethyn and Charlotte Coleman in the BBC Radio 4 comedy drama A Whole New Ball Game.[1][2]

At the end of the Christmas Eve performance of Aladdin, staged at the White Rock Theatre, Hastings in 2005, Parris (Aladdin) proposed to actress Filipa "Pippa" Jeronimo (Princess Yasmin).[3] They were married in 2007. In 2009 (now using his birth name Paul Adams) Parris and his wife set up a drama group in Jersey called Drama Labs, it celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019.[4] In November 2019 they staged a production of His Dark Materials at the Jersey Opera House.[5]

During the 2000s Parris played a number of Shakespearean roles for the production company Shakespeare 4 Kidz, including Hamlet and Caliban (The Tempest).[6][7]
