Paul Parris
Paul Parris (born Paul Adams on 19 June 1975) is a British actor and director, best known for his role as Matthew Pearson in the long-running BBC school drama, Grange Hill, from 1988–92. He has also made various other appearances in television, such as The Bill, Casualty, Neighbours and EastEnders. He later appeared as a series regular, Bruno di Gradi (or Barry Grade), in Nickelodeon's Renford Rejects.
In 1993 Parris starred alongside Desmond Barrit, Brenda Blethyn and Charlotte Coleman in the BBC Radio 4 comedy drama A Whole New Ball Game.[1][2]
At the end of the Christmas Eve performance of Aladdin, staged at the White Rock Theatre, Hastings in 2005, Parris (Aladdin) proposed to actress Filipa "Pippa" Jeronimo (Princess Yasmin).[3] They were married in 2007. In 2009 (now using his birth name Paul Adams) Parris and his wife set up a drama group in Jersey called Drama Labs, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019.[4] In November 2019 they staged a production of His Dark Materials at the Jersey Opera House.[5]
During the 2000s Parris played a number of Shakespearean roles for the production company Shakespeare 4 Kidz, including Hamlet and Caliban (The Tempest).[6][7]
