Paulette Rowe is a British business executive who serves as the chief executive officer of Stax Payments.[1][2] She has previously held senior leadership roles in the payments industry, including at Paysafe, Barclays, Meta (Facebook), the Royal Bank of Scotland (NatWest), and GE Capital.[3] She has been repeatedly recognized by American Banker in its annual Most Influential Women in Payments list.[4]
Early life and education
Rowe earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Birmingham and an MBA from INSEAD.[5] Her early education proved transformative, leading to roles at GE Capital in several countries and the Royal Bank of Scotland in the United Kingdom.[3]
Career
In August 2023, Rowe was appointed chief executive officer of Stax Payments, succeeding interim CEO John Kristel.[1][2] Her appointment was noted for making her one of the few Black CEOs in the payments industry.[1]
Recognition
Rowe has been named multiple times among the Most Influential Women in Payments by American Banker (formerly PaymentsSource), appearing in the editorial lists for 2017, 2020, 2021, and 2022.[4][6][7]
