Pavel Baranov MRIA[4][5] (also known as Pasha)[6] is Professor of Biomolecular Informatics at University College Cork (UCC)[7] and Wellcome Trust Investigator[8]. Pavel received his Ph.D. at Moscow State University and later worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Utah before establishing his laboratory at University College Cork[3]. Pavel's laboratory maintains bioinformatics resources for ribosome profiling data analysis. He is also known for his work on alternative genetic decoding and discoveries of unusual genetic codes.[2][1]
