Pawar Shrikant
Pawar Shrikant is an Indian-American machine learning (ML) scientist working in the fields of computer vision,[2] bioinformatics[3] and data science.[4] He has been affiliated with Yale University,[5] Georgia State University,[6] University of Iowa, and Claflin University.[7] His prominent ML research has been with developing a unique approach of single shot detector (SSD) technique with a VGG-16 network as a backbone for feature detection of bounding box algorithm to predict the location of an anomaly within chest X-ray image.[8][9][10][11] His work has been cited in high tier journals (Lancet, Nature Publishing) and has recently gained traction.[12] His work on biomarker discovery has been significant in ovarian and breast cancers. His work has been important in identifying common cancer biomarkers through artificial intelligence.[9] He has been a co-founder of an Connecticut based ML company, ChestAi.[13] ChestAi was started with computer scientists and geneticists at Yale university with a common motivation of providing a free and open source platform for rapid and robust diagnosis of pathologies identified by radiological examinations.[13]
