"Pay Phone" is a song by South African rapper Edson. The song was released on December 28, 2019 by Marko Records. It was allegedly supposed to be the first single from his debut studio mixtape, Watch The Change (2019). The mixtape wasn't released. A snippet of the song was released on September 24, 2019. The song is another release under the LOE series.

The song had been an exchange feature between the two artists as they both had a vision to feature on each other's projects, before they even had released any music. During the release of the song titled On The Scene in 2018, Edson had already had a clear vision for the song Pay Phone, which was allegedly supposed to be released as the project On The Scene, although he then decided to recorded Pay Phone later in the year of 2019, on November 19. He recorded it as a freestyle verse. Edson released the project the same day, just a few hours after he had recorded it. Edson recorded this project as a gift to his fans as they thought he was done with music.
In a Metro FM Radio[1][circular reference] interview he mentioned, "The music I was making was making was incredible when it comes to the aspect of sound, some people question why I don't really give my all into the songs, and the truth is the sound was not me Pay Phone was like the last song that I had put out that was not me."
