Payden Vair

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Payden Vair (born Payden Olsen; 29 September 1998) is a Canadian sitting volleyball player. She plays at the attacker position. She is a member of the Canada women's national sitting volleyball team.[1][2] She competed at the 2019 Parapan American Games, and 2020 Summer Paralympics. [3][4] Before Vair was impaired, she played football with the Lethbridge University in Alberta and became "2018 Rookie of the Year".[5] Vair was involved in a lawnmower accident at her parents' house in Cardston in 2018. Because of the remote location, the paramedics arrived almost an hour later. Her right leg had to be amputated below the knee and she underwent reconstruction on her left heel.[1] Vair started with wheelchair basketball in 2019 and made her debut for the national team in 2019.
