Payline Data Services, LLC, commonly known as Payline, is a Chicago-based merchant processor. It provides payment processing and technology services to offline and online businesses in the United States.[1][2] Jeff Shea served as CEO of the company from inception until its acquisition in October 2017.[3]
Overview
Payline was founded in 2009 by Jeff Shea, initially providing payment acceptance to merchants in the continental US. In 2014, it developed and launched Payline Mobile, introducing mobile payment solutions to its retail channel. Shortly thereafter, Payline registered as a Wholesale ISO & Payment Facilitator[4] while subsequently launching Payline IO to SaaS, Marketplace and other online FinTech businesses.[5] Expanding its technology platform, Payline acquired AcceptOn Inc, in March 2017. Later that year, Payline was acquired by Pineapple Payments, a Pittsburgh-based payment-processing technology company.[6] The company has raised a total of $29 million dollars as of 2019.[7]
Recognition
Payline was ranked #208 on the 2016 INC 500 list and #363 on the 2017 INC 500 list.[8] It was also recognized with the Best Payment Facilitator Integration award by the Electronic Transactions Association’s TRANSACT Conference.[9]
