Pear Media
Pear Media is a publishing company based in the United Kingdom.
History
The company was established by two brothers, Ed and Fed Pereira. When both brothers were at University, they founded RU Sorted magazine, a UK entertainments magazine. In 2000, the brothers won the Shell Livewire Media & Communications Company of the Year, and the company was awarded the Shell Livewire Significant Progress Award in 2001.
In 2004, Pear was contracted by the UK government to distribute their business and tourism publications. This led to the creation of Pear Distribution, which is now the UK's largest and leading distributor of printed matter including magazines, brochures, leaflets, and posters.
Since then, Pear Media expanded into a full-service marketing company with offices in Cardiff, London, and Sydney.
The company's head office and its main 40,000 sq ft (3,700 m2) Distribution Centre is located in Cardiff, with offices and 10,000 sq ft of warehousing in London, Birmingham, and Sydney.
Pear Media re-branded as Pear Communications with the merger of the Publishing, Distribution, and Marketing arms.
In 2018, Pear Communications launched their Out of Home Service, installing Digital Screens at Welcome Break and Roadchef sites, as well as Cardiff Airport arrivals hall.
