Pearl Sisters
The Pearl Sisters (Hangul: 펄 시스터즈) were a female vocal duo from South Korea active during the late 1960s and early 1970s, consisting of sisters Bae In-sook and Bae In-soon[1][2]. Their 1968 album My Dear, produced by Shin Joong-hyun, included the hit songs "Nima" and "A Cup of Coffee," and sold more than one million copies, making it the best-selling album by a Korean girl group until at least 1999.[3] In 1969, they received the "King of Singers" award at the MBC Ten Singers Match, becoming the first girl group to do so.
The Pearl Sisters helped popularize a genre of American-influenced pop music called "soul-psyche," which combined elements of African-American soul music and psychedelic rock, in South Korea.[4][5]
