Pedal pumping

Stuck: Generally a damsel in distress scenario. Their vehicle is stuck in mud, sand, snow, etc. Sometimes the driver can be more angry than scared, but scared is more common.

Brake failure: driver and/or bystanders are in danger. Sub-sub genre is slippery pedals or otherwise some kind of obstacle to operating the pedals safely

Crushing objects with the car

Vehicle/machine - generally each pedal pumping fan will have their preferred vehicle/machine. Ie, big rigs, race cars, classic cars, sewing machines, pianos, organs, foot pumps, etc. Some fans get specific to the year, make, and model of a car.

Feet/shoes - …and their preferred feet. Ie, bare feet, men vs women feet, high heels, flip flops, slippers, etc. Some fans get specific to not only a specific type, but a specific brand or color of, say, flip flops.

The viewers are predominantly male and heterosexual, even more so than for the general fetish and pornography bias. It has been described as a "clean, monotonous niche" and also identified with working-class men.

It is more prevalent in men, and hence most of the cranking fetish material available involves women cranking cars, although women and homosexual men can also have this fetish, and there is a place for men to create their own pedal pumping content.

Vehicles of all kinds are enjoyed - old and dirty, new and pristine, daily drivers, race cars, big rigs, golf carts - anything. It is worth repeating that other machines are involved, too.

The focus is the interaction between a human and a machine. Some viewers will place more emphasis on the human, and others will emphasize the vehicle or machine.
