Pedram Babaiee (pɛdrɑm bɑbɑɪ; born 11 April 1992) is an Iranian contemporary classical composer and music producer, with a background in writing and producing more than 24 hours of original music for films, motion pictures and performing arts.[1] He is known for adapting a unique innovative balance of Iranian and western musical elements in his compositions.

Biography[edit]

In 2018, he felt estranged from the great heritage of Persian Classical music, reached out Ali Brilliani -colleague of the great Iranian composer, Morteza Hannaneh- to study the roots of Iranian traditional music and to explore its legacy, theoretically; He start researching on similarities between modal systems in Iranian traditional music and western classical music which resulted in innovating his own signature expressions in compositions.

From Love and Information contains five pieces extracted from the original music composed by Pedram Babaiee for the premiere performance of Caryl Churchill’s play Love and Information in UMass Amherst, Directed by Nikoo Mamdoohi in 2016.[2] [3]

Piano Works: Portrait of an Imaginary Beloved is the debut album of Pedram Babaiee featuring himself as performer, which contains the studio production of 15 solo piano tracks from his early compositions.[4]
